Getting Over Being Through

One year ago I started my own production company…but never announced it.

I did it secretly.

I struggled with a name - a logo - a mission.

I learned how to build a website because - how hard can it be?

As a 30-year veteran of the entertainment industry… life as I knew it…was ending. The shows were gone, the phone was silent, my colleagues were scared, depressed, even desperate.

I seriously considered other types of work because, as a producer, I can do anything. But that’s not easy when so many others are out there doing the same.

So I studied project management, took an AI filmmaking course, joined new groups to meet new people, basically saying yes to everything.

I leaned into the moment in an effort to push myself through to the other side.

And it worked.

Today I’m introducing my website.

I created it all by myself because I wanted to learn.

It’s not perfect and it doesn’t have to be.

I know I will tinker with it for as long as it’s there because it’s a reflection of my journey… which has never been perfect and certainly not a straight line.

I realize now that building that website became a lifeline. It forced me to look at what I’ve done and what I’ve learned and even where I want to go. It took a while because it was like therapy.

I’d been moving so fast all these years - from producing news to docs to reality to podcasts - living in the moment and having a blast…that I had never really considered what would happen if it all just stopped.

Today, I am still the same person - the same fearless, energetic, hardworking and endlessly creative producer I have always been. But now I’m using my wisdom, my experience and my skills to help others amplify their voices...create their dream shows...build their YouTube channels.

More about that...next time.

Meantime, check out my website. I did it all myself…and you can too!
